MARG INERVENTIONS IN FAVOUR OF THE YOUNG

 YOUTH GUIDANCE

• Marg conducts well-organized career guidance and Job Orientation programmes for young people in different parts of the province. Young men and women who are seeking jobs and have registered themselves with us are given orientation and training on current trends in the job market, developing communication skills, effective interview techniques and “life-coping” skills on a regular basis.
• Marg sends out periodic information about employment opportunities to the various Don Bosco Institutions with regard to competitive examinations, job interviews etc.
• Marg also contacts the qualified candidates individually and intimates them of interview dates and other details.
• Marg has set up a Mini exhibition explaining about careers at different levels, the qualifications required, institutions that offer them and procedures to be followed in applying for and getting the job.

PLACEMENT CELL

• The Placement Cell of Marg carries out a wide variety of activities on behalf of young people looking for employment. Through the Job Placement Cell we reach out to the needy youth in equipping them and guiding them in finding jobs that would ensure a decent living.
• The Cell maintains and regularly updates a Candidate Database with all necessary details of young people who are searching for employment. The youth seeking employment register themselves with details of education, skills, training and experience and expectations.
• The Cell also maintains a Client Database with complete details of jobs available in the locality. A well-networked database of Clients of various categories is maintained. The Candidate database is matched with these and placements in jobs are worked out.
• The Cell acts as liaison - a responsible intermediary between the employers and job applicants.
• The Cell will ensure that the contracts made by employers as regards salary, leave, security, safety at work place etc are honored.
• The Cell will ensure that the legal rights of the young workers are protected.
• As needed and when requested the Cell facilitates the optimum utilization of training programs offered by our Technical/Vocation Training Institutes.
