Don Bosco Yuva Kendra, Najafgarh a well-equipped Vocational Training Institute, is the answer of the Salesians of New Delhi Province to cater to the aspirations of the youth of the locality.  It is a unit of Salesian Brothers Society – Delhi, which is involved in the field of education, skill training and Social Development in North India.

Genesis:  

The aim of the Institute is to provide quality vocational training to the youth so as to enable them to get employed / self-employed and thereby becomes self-reliant and useful members in society. The institute provides moral and value education for life.
The method of education followed is the system perfected by Don Bosco. It is based on Reason, Religion, Loving Kindness, Conviction, Self-Confidence, Mutual Trust, Dignity of the Human Person, Dignity of Labour and above all Love of God and Neighbour.

Our Activities:
SkillTraining: Don Bosco Yuva Kendra (DBTK) offers courses in NIOS and in Don Bosco Certification such as: Basic Computing, Certificate in Computer Application (CCA), Desk Top Publishing (DTP), A.C. & Refrigeration, Electrical Technician, Typewriting: English & Hindi, Tailoring & Dress Making, Cutting & Tailoring, Beauty Culture, Modern Office Management

Social Integration Activities  by BOSCO

Coaching Centres: The project also reaches out to the needy of the area through promotion of education. There are five coaching centres run by the project for over 300 children.

Skill Training Centres: Women in the Indian Society very often do not get equal opportunities for their education and development. Training in cutting, tailoring dressmaking and beauty culture has been offered to average of 30 unskilled and unemployed women at 15 centres in villages of Najafgarh.

 Production Unit: After the training, we assist them further, we established a dressmaking unit with all necessary tools and equipments. A production unit was established with state or art facility to produce schools uniforms and dress designing. Today, thirty-five women are employed in this unit and earning a regular income. They take orders from outside especially for making variety of dresses and school uniforms and each one of them earn around Rs.3000-3500 per month.

 SHG formation & Micro financing: Women are organized into Self helps Groups. They have been assisted by BOSCO to have Income Generating activities though Micro Financing Projects. There are 40 SHGs at Najagrah. Building their confidence, self-respect and reducing dependency on other family members, they have become more independent, self-reliant and self-confident. The same program is extended to near by villages. Many girls and unemployed women are benefiting from their extended program
